OATH V2: Token Migration Guide

The OATH Foundation, in response to the recent Multichain incident, is spearheading a proactive approach to safeguard the OATH ecosystem by initiating a token migration from OATHv1 to OATHv2. If you’re an OATH token holder, it’s essential that you understand and follow the steps detailed below to ensure your tokens remain safe and retain their value.

Why is this migration happening?

Due to the unforeseen circumstances involving the loss of assets on Multichain Bridge, the OATH Foundation has deemed it necessary to migrate the old OATH tokens to a newer, more secure version, namely OATHv2.

Token Rebranding

To prevent any confusion during the migration period, OATH tokens will be labeled as OATHv1 with a red dot. As the migration gains traction, users will begin to observe the appearance of OATHv2 tokens marked with a green dot. Following the migration’s conclusion, OATHv2 tokens will revert to being labeled simply as OATH, returning to the standard branding.

Your Step-by-Step Migration Guide

We’ve worked to make the token migration process as simple as possible. Here’s a simple, four-step process to migrate your OATH assets.

1. Access the Migration Portal

Start by visiting https://app.ethos.finance/migrate on the specific network you’re holding OATH tokens on.

2. Authorize the OATHv1 Spend

You’ll need to provide authorization for the system to access and utilize your OATHv1 tokens. To do this, find and click on the “Approve” option.

3. Swap OATHv1 for OATHv2

After approval, proceed to the “Swap” option. This step will exchange your old OATH tokens for the new version.

4. Decide on Your Next Steps

With your new OATHv2 tokens:

As you begin the migration process, reference the contract addresses here depending on the network on which you hold OATH tokens.
